The market shares of email providers are distributed as follows:

  • Gmail: 31%
  • GMX und Bluewin: each 17%
  • Microsoft: 15% 

Email communication in the purchasing process, communication with authorities, education and private email are the main use cases.

The relevance of email is increasing most among 14-19 year olds.

41% of newsletter recipients have made a purchase from a newsletter. Three reasons: discounts, artificial scarcity, convenience.
